YEREVAN. - Russian Embassy in Armenia today held a ceremonial reception in honor of the future Armenia students, who are going to receive education in Russian higher education institutions in 2015.
Oleg Shapovalov, advisor of the Russian Embassy in Armenia, read out the congratulatory message of Ivan Volinkin, Russian Ambassador to Armenia.
Victor Rebets, General Director of the “South Caucasian Railways” (SCR) CJSC also delivered a congratulatory speech, stressing that the students with high performance will receive scholarships.
Anna Kalinina, Deputy Head of the Educational Services Marketing Department of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture told Armenian News – NEWS.am: “This year 190 students have entered universities in the framework of our program, although initially the number of applicants was around 1000.”
According to Ms. Kalinina, management and jurisprudence were among the most competitive majors. “Competition was also very high for medical degrees. And technical majors are demanded by employers. Creative majors are also in demand. Armenia has lots of talented young men,” she said.
The aim of such programs, according to her, is to receive quality education, return and improve the industry, art and social life in the native country.
