YEREVAN. – According to the preliminary data of official statistics, the income tax revenue into Armenia’s state budget has noticeably slowed.
To note, however, the “economic activity index” was exactly three times higher.
But a considerable increase is recorded in customs submissions.
At the same time, however, there is a noticeable decline in the cash flow from the value-added tax (VAT) and profit tax.
Ever since Armenia joined the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) in January, the operative nature of the calculation of several indicators has dropped. Very often the data, especially the customs data, are incomplete. In addition, we need to consider the fact that the goods imported to Armenia from the other EEU countries (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and most recently, Kyrgyzstan) are exempt from paying the VAT right at the customs.
From January to June, the 1,000 largest taxpayers of Armenia have paid less at the customs, as compared to the same period last year.
The decline in the imports of goods also has played a respective part.
Between January and June, the large taxpayers of the country have paid less in taxes than the year past.
