YEREVAN. - This year the Hayfest annual international theatre festival in Armenia was held in cooperation with the British Council Armenia and the capital’s Small Theater. “Do not leave me” and “Hiraeth” performances were presented to the audience in the framework of “Dance without borders” project, being included in the main program of the festival.

The aforementioned performances were staged jointly with the UK’s Candoco physically integrated dance company. The performances were not only staged at the Hayfest Festival, but also included in the repertoire of the Small Theatre.

The performance includes actors with disabilities as well as healthy ones, who are also included in the “Dance without borders” project of the British Council.

The participation of the British side at the festival was also marked by the tour of Shakespeare’s well-known Globe Theatre. On October 8, the Armenian spectators had an opportunity to attend the “Hamlet” performance. On occasion of Shakespeare’s 450th anniversary, on 23 April 2014 the theatre launched tours with this performance in order to visit all the countries of the world within two years. The performance has already been staged in 120 countries of the world in front of more than 100,000 spectators.

At the end of the performance, the British Council held an evening party. At the closing of the Hayfest festival, the festival participants, Armenian actors and the Globe Theatre representatives had an opportunity to get known with each other and create professional ties for possible future cooperation.
