YEREVAN. - Tigran Sargsyan’s capacities will help him in the office of the Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), the coordinating authority of the EEU, Eduard Sharmazanov, Armenia’s ruling Republican Party (RPA) spokesman and Vice President of Parliament told Armenian News – NEWS.am after the session of the RPA’s executive body.

“Tigran Sargsyan is our partner and friend. We think that his great competence which he displayed during his lifetime will help him in his work,” Sharmazanov said.

Sargsyan will assume the office of the Chairman of the EEC in February 2016. He has been Armenia’s Ambassador to U.S since June 2014. In 1998-2008, Sargsyan headed the Central Bank of Armenia.
