YEREVAN. – The operating veterinarian laboratories in Armenia need to be reequipped, and the farm animals in the country need to be numbered.  

The Minister of Agriculture, Sergo Karapetyan, noted the aforesaid at his talk Monday with a delegation led by Major Matthew Pope, the new head of the Armenia Office of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) of the US Department of Defense.

The Ministry of Agriculture informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that DTRA carries out several veterinarian programs in Armenia. Karapetyan highly praised the programs this US agency implements in the country. 

In the minister’s words, however, measures are needed to reequip Armenia’s veterinarian laboratories in the provinces.   

Karapetyan also drew the attention of the guests on the need for registration and numbering of the farm animals of the country.

At the talk, the parties also discussed the prospects for further cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia and the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
