Israel is interested in speedy conclusion of agreement on free trade zone with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), TASS reports, citing the statement by Ze'ev Elkin, Minister of Immigrant Absorption and Jerusalem Affairs and co-chair of the Russian-Israeli intergovernmental Commission.  

“We think we have great potential also for the Israeli economics, and other countries included in the Customs Union might as well have interests. I think there are no reasons to linger with this,” he said.

According to the Minister, the talks between Israel and the EEU have been given a “high priority.” Elkin stated about his intention to do this as effective as possible, also noting that the country proposes Russia to launch talks as early as in 2016 and carry out at least two rounds of talks in 2016.  

The time for achieving an agreement depends on the number of complex issues to be solved.
