YEREVAN. – Armenia will do everything possible to carry out measures to reduce climate change.

The Minister of Nature Protection of Armenia, Aramayis Grigoryan, noted the above-said at his talk Thursday with the ambassadors of several countries in, and representatives of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Armenia.

The Ministry of Nature Protection informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the discussants conferred on the new agreements that will be signed at the 21st conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and which will be convened at the end of the year in Paris.

Grigoryan noted that the Armenian government stands ready to fulfill the commitments it has assumed pursuant to the respective concept paper. 

Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, for his part, expressed gratitude on behalf of the EU leadership and congratulated Armenia for adopting this concept paper. Świtalski also urged Armenia to join the EU countries’ efforts to adopt the relevant agreement.

French Ambassador Jean-François Charpentier, in turn, said Armenia’s adoption of this concept paper is the country’s manifestation of political will, and a considerable precondition that productive talks will be conducted and an important agreement will be signed in Paris.
