YEREVAN. - Protection of the rights of minority shareholders will be enhanced in Armenia in the coming year. Armenia’s Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am after the government session today, commenting on the country’s recent rating in World Bank’s Doing Business 2016, where the country moved up from the 38th to 35th place.
Specifically, if the large shareholders decide to make a transaction without the agreement of small ones, the latter will get the right to require auditing that transaction. “This will relieve the business-culture in the country of the risk of voluntary decisions by majority shareholders,” the Minister said.
