YEREVAN. – The Armenian parliament on Thursday adopted the draft bill submitted by ruling Republican Party of Armenia that allows voting with passports and ID cards.
The amendments to the Electoral Code and the law on ID cards have been adopted with 81 votes “for”, 16 “against” and 14 abstentions.
The opposition stands against the bill noting that voting with ID card leaves a loophole for repeated voting.
Armenia is getting ready for a referendum on constitutional amendments that will be held on December 6.
