YEREVAN. - Armenia ranks the highest among the CIS countries in the World Bank’s Doing Business 2016, Armenia’s Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian told Armenian News – NEWS.am after the government session today. He also said that Armenia came 35th, being preceded by Baltic countries and Georgia, which are not members of CIS.

Armenia appeared between such countries as Japan and the Czech Republic.

Thus, the government’s amendments aimed at improving the investment climate cannot remain unnoticed. Nevertheless, it’s evident that the high rating per se doesn’t guarantee investment attractiveness, the Minister said.

“The issue is first of all solved by human resources, which are the most expensive, let alone for small countries. The availability of infrastructures and financial resources is also very important,” Chshmaritian said.

According to the Minister, a presentation on the innovation development strategy in Armenia will be held in Yerevan State University of Economics (YSUE) on November 11. “I think this document will become an important guideline for the further development of our country,” the Minister said.
