Roaming charges will go down by seven times in the near future in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Head of Russia’s Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) Igor Artemyev said, TASS reports.   

In June 2015, Artemyev stated that the roaming charges for Russian citizens will fall at least twice.

According to FAS, the roaming tariffs shouldn’t significantly differ from prices on the connection in the subscriber’s country of temporary residence.

The issue on lowering roaming charges was also discussed at the level of an international working group, which was set up upon the initiative of Russia and Turkey. It included the representatives of the EEU and CIS.
