YEREVAN. - The dismissal of the criminal case against Baghramyan Avenue activists was related to the US Embassy’s to request to the Armenian government to provide information on the reopened criminal case against the protestors, the “No to Plunder” initiative member Maxim Sargsyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am. He also said that the case had been fabricated from the very beginning, the same process would have ensued had any international institutions asked for the grounds of the case.

“The protestors were holding a peaceful march and nobody was engaged in hooliganism. The re-opening of this case tended to frighten the citizens,” he said.

The criminal case brought against the protesters during the protests in Yerevan’s Baghramyan Avenue was re-opened on September 19.

Armenia’s Investigative Committee today disseminated a message according to which the Committee has dismissed the aforementioned case.
