YEREVAN. – In 2016, a 0.3-percent growth is anticipated in the aggregate volume of consumption in Armenia.  

The above-said was stated at the 2016 State Budget draft debates, which kicked off Monday in the National Assembly. 

In the first half of the current year, consumption in the country increased by 0.4 percent, and primarily on the account of state programs.

Due to a drop in the private remittances as well as in the loans provided to Armenia in the first quarter of 2015, however, consumption decreased by 1 percent in the reporting period. On the other hand, the public sector consumption increased by 0.7 percent, and mostly owing to a stimulative tax and budget policy.

Nonetheless, the annual indicator will be minus 0.6 percent for this year, but a little growth is expected in the coming year.
