YEREVAN. – The tension has reduced on the border with Azerbaijan, and the Line of Contact of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani conflict. 

The Minister of Defense of Armenia, Seyran Ohanyan, on Monday told the aforesaid to reporters in the parliament.

In his words, Azerbaijan fires very little with large-caliber weapons—especially with mortars—, in the past two weeks.

“The relatively calm present-day situation can be linked to our neighbors’ internal matters, especially the [parliamentary] elections [that were held Sunday in Azerbaijan],” Ohanyan added. “Nevertheless, whatever the situation—relatively tense, or pacific—our armed forces ensure defensibility.”
