YEREVAN. - It’s necessary to think of trade of energy resources in national currencies, which will significantly reduce the instability in the domestic market of our countries, Armenia’s PM Hovik Abrahamyan said today at the 4th Armenian-Russian Interregional Forum, which he attended with Chairman of Russia's Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko.

In his speech, Abrahamyan specifically said: “Our integration structures create necessary preconditions for the further activation and enhancement of trade and economic ties, but we must stimulate not only the framework agreement, but also specific initiatives.” He also noted that the export of agricultural goods increased this year, which proves that the demand of Armenia production is growing in the Russian market.  

“For preserving this tendency, we must do our best to develop the logistics and mutual investments, as well as create favorable conditions for business. For this very purpose we came forward with the initiative to return to the facilitated mechanism,” he said.

The conference’s agenda also attached special attention to the cooperation in the sphere of energy and cooperation in the humanitarian area, which, according to the PM, “is especially important for our brotherly nations.” “With this view, we have come forward with a proposal so that the Russian citizens can visit Armenia with internal passport,” he said.

Hovik Abrahamyan and Valentina Matviyenko also signed a number of documents on bilateral cooperation.
