There is no reason not to trust the safety of the Armenian nuclear power plant (NPP).

Deputy director of Rostekhnadzor (Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision) of Russia, Aleksei Ferapontov, told the abovementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“We are cooperating very closely with the nuclear safety agencies of Armenia,” Ferapontov said. “We have heard and discussed the report by the head of the agency that regulates [the energy reactor] of Armenia, which [i.e. the report] was very convincing.

“In the near future, we will start the test on the safety and future work of the Armenian NPP. (…) The test will probably take about two years, and it will be conducted in keeping with the IAEA [i.e. the International Atomic Energy Agency] standards.”
