The first court hearing into the case of Azerbaijani Turgay Mikhailov, who had illegally crossed the Georgian-Armenian border, has been adjourned.

The Lori District Court of First Instance of Armenia, where the case is being heard, informed the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

They informed that the hearing had adjourned because the judge, who presides over this trial, was in the chambers.

The next trial is set for November 26.

According to the indictment, on July 23 at around 9pm, Mikhailov had bypassed Armenia’s state border crossings at the country’s border with Georgia—and without the necessary documents—, and illegally entered Armenia on foot.

A criminal case is brought against the 35-year-old Azerbaijani, and on charges of illegally crossing the Armenian border. This offense is punishable by a fine, or imprisonment.

Turgay Mikhailov is under arrest.

But Azerbaijani websites claim that even though Mikhailov is an Azerbaijani, he is a citizen of Georgia.
