YEREVAN. - Karabakh-EU cooperation can have a positive impact on the further development and enhancement of democratic institutions in Karabakh. Karabakh FM Karen Mirzoyan said the aforementioned at the meeting with the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Ambassador Herbert Salber, held in Yerevan today.  

Mirzoyan attached importance to such meetings in terms of continuing the communication between Karabakh and EU. 

He also presented the democratic processes underway in Karabakh, specifically referring to the parliamentary and local self-governance bodies’ elections in 2015.

Reference was also made to the current stage of Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict resolution process. With this regard, both sides stressed the necessity of making efforts towards ruling out attempts to destabilize the situation and ensure progress in the peaceful process.
