YEREVAN. - The talks on drafting a new legal document on Armenian-EU relations may officially kick off before the end of this year. The aforementioned was stated at the meeting of the Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian and the EU European External Action Service (EEAS) Director for Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, Regional Cooperation and OSCE, Gunnar Wiegand.

Welcoming the guest, FM Nalbandian attached importance to the provision of a mandate by the Council of the European Union to the EU Commission for launching talks on drafting new legal framework of relations with Armenia, Armenia’s MFA press-service reports.

Thanking for the reception, Gunnar Wiegand said that the planned launch of the negotiations enables building a new scope of cooperation on the already existing rich basis.

Nalbandian reconfirmed Armenia’s commitment to further develop and strengthen the comprehensive activity in all the spheres of mutual interest.

The interlocutors also exchanged ideas on the regional developments and urgent issues on the international agenda.
