YEREVAN. - Armenia and EU aren’t going to evade any sphere in their talks, Armenia’s First Deputy Minister of Economy Garegin Melkonyan said in the parliament today, referring to the economic part of the talks on the new legal cooperation document between Armenia and EU, which was launched in November 2014.

According to him, the economic bloc of draft Armenia-EU Association Agreement included 28-29 directions. Part of them can be included in the new document without changes, while the other part will require new talks and wordings, Melonyan said.

The Agreement will not include provisions on free trade, since Armenia – as an EEU member – cannot separately hold such talks with third countries.

In Melkonyan’s words, there will thus be no provisions on zero customs rates and customs procedures directly related to them, but there will be provisions on the format of the trade and economic cooperation and, among them, even separate provisions on customs sphere.

“In other words, the previous experience of talks with EU helped us a lot,” he said.
