YEREVAN. - Armenia’s MFA offered condolences to the families of those who died as a result of the plane crash in South Sudan.

Specifically, the MFA press-service representatives told Armenian News – NEWS.am: “We inform that Armenia’s MFA is cooperating with the local authorities, Russia’s diplomatic representation, as well as the representatives of Sudan’s Armenian community for providing the documents of the killed Armenian citizens and organizing the fastest return of their bodies to the homeland.”  

Dozens of people, including the aircraft’s crewmembers and passengers as well as people on the ground, were killed in the plane crash.

According to preliminary information, the cargo aircraft’s crewmembers included Armenians. They were First Pilot and aircraft commander Gevorg Tovmasyan, Second Pilot Samvel Hambardzumyan, Engineer Samvel Mkrtchyan, and Technicians Armen Antonyan, and Suren Petrosyan.
