YEREVAN. – The level of poverty in Armenia will rise 1.5 to 2 percent this year, and this level will increase by another 2 percent next year.
Former Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia, economist Bagrat Asatryan, stated the abovementioned at a press conference on Tuesday.
Asatryan reflected on the 2016 State Budget draft, and noted that the Armenian authorities will increase internal debt.
“The authorities’ debt to their own people is certainly more effective than foreign debt,” the economist maintained.
He also stressed that there is a drop in the quality of life in Armenia.
