YEREVAN. – Venezuela’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Juan Vicente Paredes Torrealba—whose diplomatic residence is in Moscow—, on Tuesday presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

First, the President congratulated the ambassador on his appointment, and noted that Armenia underscores the intensification of relations with the South American countries. Sargsyan also expressed the hope that Paredes Torrealba, as Venezuela’s First Ambassador to Armenia, will contribute to the invigoration of bilateral state ties and development of collaboration. 

Sargsyan also highly appreciated Venezuela’s position during discussions—within international organizations—of key issues concerning Armenia, and stressed the need for strengthening of cooperation within the framework of these organizations.

The President also expressed gratitude to the Venezuelan authorities and people for recognizing the Armenian Genocide, and noted that this is of great importance for the Armenian people.

The Venezuelan ambassador, for his part, assured that he has assumed this office with a huge sense of duty, it is a great honor for him to commence his diplomatic mission in Armenia, and that he has a deep respect for the Armenian people.

Subsequently, the Armenian President and the Venezuelan ambassador conferred on the avenues for the enhancement of bilateral state relations and full use of the potential of cooperation.
