YEREVAN. - Karabakh conflict settlement requires the political will of both sides, the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills told Armenian News – NEWS.am today, referring to the issue of the conflict escalation and the measures needed for its peaceful settlement.  

The absence of the results over the last 25 years is not the mediator’s fault, he said.  According to Mr Mills, the only decision is the peaceful settlement, which can be achieved through talks, thus ensuring everyone’s security. He also noted that the mediators are working on providing such a platform which will ensure progress in the presence of a political will. The U.S. Government and all the participants of the process are concerned over the growth of violence, the Ambassador stressed.

In his words, that level of violence is unacceptable and can’t be continued. The Ambassador expressed conviction that this must create political will among the parties to achieve the solution of the issue.
