Deputy Minister: We’ll combine VAT and excise tax reports in 2018 

YEREVAN. - Staring from 2018, business will submit single report on VAT and excise tax, Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Finance Vakhtang Mirumyan said in the parliament today at the debate on the package of tax bills (amendments to the Law on Taxes and the accompanying bills).

According to him, the single report on indirect taxes will help synchronize their payment, Thus, now it’s necessary to pay the excise tax once in a quarter, but the businessmen count and make their payments every month. Since 2018, both indirect taxes – the excise and VAT – will be paid quarterly. “We have decided not to receive the reports every month in order not to complicate the work of business. On the contrary, now they will submit one report less [than usual],” Mirumyan said. If the business pays only one of the two taxes (for instance, only VAT), there’s no need to fill in the other part.
