The tax service of Armenia doesn’t freeze business accounts in case of every nonpayment, Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Finance Vakhtang Mirumyan said in the parliament today.

When the nonpayment constitutes less than 500,000 AMD (approx. $1040), the tax service doesn’t solicit for freezing the account. If the threshold exceeds the aforementioned amount, the entrepreneur is given the opportunity to conclude an agreement on gradual extinguishment. He pays 20% of debts immediately, and the rest is paid in the period of up to 6 months.

Apart from this, a mechanism of mutual deduction is in place: if the business has an overpayment of one tax and obligations in another one, the tax service doesn’t require fast payment of the obligation, but deduces it from the overpayment.
