The draft agreement on regulation of alcohol market in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) was approved in a subsequent session of the Eurasian Economic Commission Board. The document aims at eliminating the existing barriers in the mutual trade of alcohol production, as well as development of legal framework for the regulation of the alcohol market in the framework of the Union. The draft agreement proposes to create a common market of alcohol production. Therefore, the markets of other EEU states will be available to the other integration union states.   

The document includes common objectives and principles and common regulation measures, including control over the activity of the alcohol market participants.

The introduction of the new alcoholic goods to the market of the EEU states will impact the competition in common alcohol market, which will certainly foster improving the production quality and expanding the variety.

The agreement on the Draft Agreement will be reached before 1 December 2015. The draft agreement will be put to discussion in the subsequent session of the EEU Council, following which it will be signed.

Apart from this, the draft Agreements on the introduction of tax policy in the area of alcohol and tobacco production excise were also approved by the EEU member-states.
