YEREVAN. - Armenia considers it necessary to join the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), Armenia’s Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan said in the parliament today, introducing the draft agreement on Armenia’s accession to the Organization.

The OIV, founded in Paris in 2001, unites 45 countries, which exchange scientific, technical, economic and legal information.

Accession to the organization requires annual membership fee in the amount of EUR 13,5000. In this case the Organization will thoroughly inform Armenia on vine and wine export markets important for it, as well as on the condition of other manufacturing countries.   

“Besides, we will be able to organize free wine degustation in Paris once a year. We have already reached primary agreement with our wine-growers regarding the next spring,” the Minister said.
