The official representative of Russian MFA Maria Zakharova has responded to the question on the hearsay appeared in Armenian media outlets regarding the possible concession of regions round Karabakh to Azerbaijan in the framework of Russian FM Sergey Lavrov’s visit to Armenia. Referring to the hearsay, Zakharova advised not to fuel tensions and address the open sources.

“I can’t add anything additional to what Sergey Lavrov told in detail during the open press-conference held in Yerevan [on November 9]. He most thoroughly stopped on the issues of the negotiation process, as well as those which had already been discussed. Hence, I think there’s no need to fuel tensions. It’s indeed necessary to turn to the primary information sources, the words of the Russian Minister. All this is published on the website,” Zakharova said at a briefing, responding to the question of an Azerbaijani journalist.

In her words, the Russian side is in close contact with the Armenian, and apparently the Azerbaijani colleagues in the issue of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.

“We don’t do anything which could harm both sides. Our task has been repeatedly confirmed: it’s public, being formed and focused on our approaches to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement. These approaches are unalterable, and I can only confirm them. I hope, I have somehow calmed down the Armenian media outlets,” Zakharova said.
