YEREVAN. – The attempts to move the discussions on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to other formats are detrimental.

The aforementioned was noted at Wednesday’s talk—in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan—between Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, and the US Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, Bridget Brink.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that Nalbandian expressed satisfaction with the high level of Armenia-American partnership.

Brink, for her part, noted that the US highly rates partnership relations with Armenia and looks toward deepening them further.   

The interlocutors reflected on the prospects for the development of Armenian-American economic cooperation.

The Armenian FM and the US deputy assistant secretary also exchanged views on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, and pointed to the inadmissibility of ceasefire violation. They stressed that the attempts to move the Karabakh issue to other formats are detrimental.  

In addition, Edward Nalbandian and Bridget Brink discussed regional and international issues, the fight against terrorism, and the avenues for resolving conflicts.

The US official praised Armenia’s contribution to ensuring global security, and engagement in peacekeeping missions in several countries.
