YEREVAN. - The main efforts of the U.S. are aimed at supporting the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in reducing the tension in the zone of Karabakh conflict, as well as support the talks between the parties. Bridget Brink, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, stated the aforementioned at a press-conference in Yerevan today, referring to the regular threats of the Azerbaijani side on resuminf war, as well as measures taken by the U.S. to prevent the possible military actions.

Ms Brink said she was aware of the recent growth of violence in the zone of conflict. But, in her words, the Co-Chairs made a statement which precisely stresses the unacceptability of using heavy weapons and includes a call to all the parties to observe the ceasefire. According to Ms Brink, the efforts of the Co-Chairs are indeed very important. She also noted that they closely work with Ambassador Warlick and will continue supporting his efforts to avoid resumption of military actions.
