YEREVAN. - The PM shouldn’t make the members of the executive body accomplices in crime, Levon Zurabyan, leader of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC), stated in the parliament today.
According to him, ten thousands of people – teachers, medical officers, municipal officials – have already been given the task to gather “yes” votes at the constitutional referendum to be held on December 6.
However, such abuse of power for putting pressure on the will of the voters is punishable by 2-5 years of imprisonment under Article 149 of the Criminal Code. “Thus, the members of the executive authority risk to appear in prison because of you. No need to do this. Don’t make them accomplices in crime,” Zurabyan said.
