YEREVAN. – The US can and is ready to offer advice and assistance to Armenian authorities, in order to make the country more appealing for direct foreign investments.

The US Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, Bridget Brink, stated the aforesaid at Thursday’s opening session of the Armenian-American Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.

In her words, the US is very proud of providing $2-billion assistance to Armenia since 1992. Brink said they have faith that this assistance will contribute to making Armenia become a more prosperous country.

She added that the axis of the respective discourse between the two countries has now tilted from economic interests to discussions on increasing trade and investments.
