YEREVAN. – The American side is proposing to discuss the matter of regulating, along the lines of several broader agreements, the double taxation with Armenia.

Deputy Prime Minister Vache Gabrielyan, who is also the Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms of Armenia, told the aforementioned to reporters. He said this within the framework of Thursday’s meeting of the Armenian-American Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. 

In the minister’s words, the signing of a double taxation elimination agreement between the two countries is among the matters Armenia has raised, and the discussions will be on this topic.

“The American side proposes to discuss it at a more specific level, which will enable to move forward,” Gabrielyan noted. “We are conducting discussions at the technical level.”

The deputy PM went on to say that this refers to the solutions that can be found to promote investments.

“At this moment, our problem is not that double taxation has prevented any major investment,” Vache Gabrielyan added. “And the putting off of the discussion of the problem was so far was due to [the fact] that it was not an essential factor. Now, we want to also eliminate the small factors.”
