YEREVAN. – The US highlights the development of Armenia’s trade with its neighbors, especially the construction of energy systems’ lines with the neighboring countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Vache Gabrielyan, who is also the Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms of Armenia, told the aforesaid to reporters. He noted this along the lines of Thursday’s meeting of the Armenian-American Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. 

The minister also expressed the hope that Armenia-US turnover would increase.

“Especially now, when the American Contour Global company has appeared on the Armenian market, some technological equipment is already being imported [into Armenia],” Gabrielyan added.

In the deputy PM’s words, even though the current modest amount of American investments is due to Armenia’s limited market, Contour Global has made the largest American investment in the country.

In January, the Government of Armenia had signed a contract with Contour Global Hydro Cascade and CG Solutions Global Holding Company, on the sale of Armenia’s Vorotan Hydropower Plants for US$180 million.
