The United Armenian Fund (UAF) non-profit organization on Monday ended its operations in Armenia and in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), Arevelk reported.

The UAF informed that this decision was taken due the recent passing away of its main benefactor, American Armenian businessman and philanthropist Kirk Kerkorian, preceded by the shuttering of his Lincy Foundation.

At the same time, the UAF representatives expressed their gratitude to the great benefactor, thanks to whom millions of dollars were sent to Armenia.

UAF recalled that in the past 26 years, it has delivered from the US to Armenia and Artsakh a total of $720 million worth of relief supplies on board 159 airlifts and 2,260 sea containers.

The Fund representatives added that even though they still will try to implement some programs in Armenia and in Artsakh, UAF’s former activities will no longer be carried out.
