Vanik Martirosyan, who was serving in the Armenian army for just three months, was wounded in the leg during shelling by Azerbaijan, on September 25.

As a result, doctors were forced to amputate his leg.

The surgery was conducted in capital city Yerevan.

Now, Vanik is at home, in Arevashogh community in the Lori Province, under the care of family members.

“It’s too early for a prosthesis,” his mother, Tereza, told Armenian News-NEWS.am. “The wound still needs to heal, and then we’ll see.”
