YEREVAN. - By the statements on the liberated territories, official Ankara is once again stressing its stance on supporting Azerbaijan in order to have Baku’s support. Armenian Parliament Vice-President, spokesman of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am, commenting on the statement of the Turkish PM Ahmet Davutoğlu on Karabakh’s liberated territories.

According to Sharmazanov, the Turkish establishment - in the name of Davutoğlu - persistently doesn’t want to see the black cat sitting on its shoulder: “They’re ready to look for that cat everywhere but not on their own shoulders. Neither Erdogan, nor Davutoğlu and [actually] nobody in Turkey has the moral right to try to present the liberated Armenian territories as occupied. A country which occupied 38 percent of Cyprus – which is an EU member - during 40 years, is speaking about occupation, and this despite urges from a number of international institutions.”

Sharmazanov stressed that the one to leave the occupied territories is Turkey.

“Turkey cannot play any role in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, and Davutoğlu himself named the reason – the biased attitude and the support provided  to Azerbaijan,” Sharmazanov said.
