YEREVAN. - The agreement on visa-free regime is an initiative aimed at the rapprochement between Armenia and Brazil. Brazilian Ambassador to Armenia Edson Marinho Duarte Monteiro told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.

According to the Ambassador, thanks to the signed agreement, any Armenian citizen can come to Brazil for a short-term visit without the need to get a visa.  “We mean tourist and business visas, which are mainly short-term. Now the Armenian citizens can come to Brazil and stay there for up to 90 days. [But] Of course, if there is a wish to stay for permanent residence, permanent visa will be necessary. It is also necessary in case of studying over three months,” Edson Marinho Duarte Monteiro said.

But the most important thing is that in case of ordinary visits, the entry to Brazil is free for Armenian citizens, he said. “We hope to bring home to people the idea that it's already easy to go to Brazil. We want Armenians to feel that there is one more friendly country which is waiting for them with their eyes closed,” the Ambassador said with a sincere smile, adding that each visit can result in something new – new cooperation in some sphere.
