YEREVAN. – If there were infringements during the referendum on constitutional amendments in Armenia, the guilty will be punished.

President of the National Assembly, Galust Sahakyan, on Tuesday told the aforesaid to reporters.

He recalled that the law enforcement authorities are investigating the respective reports that were filed.

“We will be able to understand as a result of their work,” Sahakyan added.

The referendum on Armenia’s constitutional amendments was conducted on Sunday.

Pursuant to these amendments, the country will make a transition from a semi-presidential to a parliamentary system of governance, and conduct completely proportional parliamentary elections.

According to preliminary data by the Central Electoral Commission, 825,851 (63.35%) voters said “yes,” whereas 421,600 (32.35%) others voted “no” in this plebiscite.
