YEREVAN. - Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan today received the delegation of the Armenian General Athletic Union (AGAU).

Welcoming the guests, Ohanyan highly appreciated the role of the institution in preserving Armenian identity, specifically through the patriotic education of the young generation. He also stressed that the activity of the AGAU is indeed one of the best examples of Armenia-Diaspora cooperation.

AGAU Lebanon branch office head Garnik Mkertichyan thanked for the readiness to support the organization activity, noting that the link with the homeland and program aimed at the unification round the homeland, all-Armenian events, scout gatherings and organization of different sports games have always been in the center of AGAU’s attention.

At the meeting, the project and events to be implemented jointly with Armenia’s Defense Ministry in the framework of the 40-year activity of AGAU were discussed.
