YEREVAN. – The European Union (EU) donates 1 million euros weekly in non-refundable assistance to support Armenia.
Hoa Binh Adjemian, head of the Cooperation section at the EU Delegation to Armenia, told the aforementioned Tuesday in capital city Yerevan, at the forum to celebrate the 20 years of activity of the Fund of Social Investments (today known as the Fund of Territorial Development).
This is no small amount, and can make a lot of change, he said.
These funds are spent to improve justice and democracy, foster agriculture, and to assist other activities. One of the main goals is to ensure shared growth between Yerevan and regions.
One can travel as little as 10 km outside of Yerevan to witness disparities between the capital city and the regions. This calls for continuous efforts, including bottom-up projects, to level that inequality, Adjemian stressed.
