Participants in the meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Military Committee unanimously supported Russia’s operations in Syria, and condemned Turkey which had shot down a Russian warplane.
Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Colonel General Yuri Khachaturov, who assumed chairmanship of the Committee at the session, informed about this, reported TASS news agency of Russia.
“Heads of the staffs of the CSTO member countries supported Russia’s position, and characterized the aggression manifested by Turkey as low,” Khachaturov said. “We stand with Russia in all matters.”
The Chief of the Russian Federation General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, for his part, said the discussants in the session conferred on the measures that need to be taken to prevent the development of terrorist aspirations within the CSTO expanse.
