YEREVAN. – Neither Armenia nor the European Union (EU) coordinates any point that could lead to perceiving the new Armenia-EU agreement as a revolution in the geopolitical struggle.
The secretary of Armenia’s “Heritage” National Assembly Faction, Tevan Poghosyan, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
In his conviction, both Armenia and the EU have learned a lesson from September 3, 2013; that is, when Armenia announced its plan to join the Russia-led Customs Union.
“It’s not necessary that we conduct [new Armenia-EU agreement] negotiations on the whole package and pass to initialing and signing solely after that,” Poghosyan suggested. “Negotiations on the political component [of this agreement] can be concluded in one or two phases.”
But the MP noted that, unfortunately, Armenia has missed the opportunity to sign the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area agreement.
“But we need to jointly pass this road,” Tevan Poghosyan added. “And I’m confident that, if wanted, everything can be done quickly, within several months.”
