YEREVAN. - The world should condemn the perpetrators who committed the genocide and struggle against the Turkish denial, since the Genocide denial is as criminal an act as its perpetration. Vice-Speaker of Armenian Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov, who is on a working trip to Argentine, said the aforementioned at a meeting in Argentine’s Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Referring to the subject of the Armenian Genocide, Sharmazamov said in his speech:
“We thank the brotherly Argentine, who acknowledged and condemned the Armenian Genocide at the level of law. The crimes committed against the humanity, have no statute of limitations. The world should condemn the perpetrators who committed the genocide and struggle against the Turkish denial, since the Genocide denial is as criminal an act as its perpetration. As Pope Francis noted during the holy mass commemorating the Armenian Genocide Centennial: “ "It is necessary, and indeed a duty, to honour [the memory of the Armenian Genocide], for whenever memory fades, it means that evil allows wounds to fester. Concealing or denying evil is like allowing a wound to keep bleeding without bandaging it!" he said.
Sharmazanov also thanked all the attendees for maintaining links with the homeland and exerting efforts aimed at enhancing the Armenian-Argentine relations.
“I’m glad to meet you in Buenos Aires. You inspired me and I once again got convinced that Armenians are strong in spirit even on the other side of the ocean. As great Garegin Nzhdeh put it: “Be strong, stronger and always strong,” the Vice-Speaker said.
