YEREVAN. – Armenia plans to exempt the duty-free shops at its borders from paying the value-added tax (VAT).
The Deputy Minister of Economy, Garegin Melkonyan, on Monday introduced the respective draft changes to the National Assembly.
As a result, the duty-free stores not solely at the country’s airports, but also at its land border crossings—at Meghri, Bavra, and Bagratashen—will be exempt from the VAT.
