YEREVAN. - Despite the reduction of cargo traffic due to the economic slowdown, the Armenian railway operator will not reduce the staff. Armenia’s First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication, Artur Arakelyan, said the aforementioned in the parliament today.

“Income of the “South Caucasus Railway” CJSC reduced due to a common economic slowdown and reduction in cargo transportation. Nevertheless, they want to retain the staff. We are also doing our best for this,” he said.

“South Caucasus Railway” CJSC is one of the largest employers of Armenia (the company employs about 3,9000 people).
