YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia plans to apply a centralized system for making airplane ticket reservations for the business trips of the country’s officials.

The Government Chief of Staff-Minister, Davit Harutyunyan, announced the aforesaid at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

He noted that, after studying the respective track-record of several countries, three main proposals are offered.

Harutyunyan said, from now on, all employees of the Armenian state agencies will go on business trips in economy class air travel, and the cheapest respective tickets will be purchased for them.

Ministers and department heads likewise will travel in economy class, but except in cases when the flight duration exceeds eight hours.

However, exceptions will be made solely for the members of the National Security Council of Armenia.

But Davit Harutyunyan added that if the officials decide to purchase higher class air travel tickets, these costs will not be reimbursed from the state budget.
