Ex-PM of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan, who is currently the Ambassador of Armenia to the U.S., will assume the office of the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission starting from 1 February 2016.  Armenia’s Presidential Chief of Staff, Vigen Sargsyan, said the aforementioned in a narrow circle after the Collective Security Council session in Moscow.

Sargsyan also noted that at the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council today, the heads of states approved the candidacy of Tigran Sargsyan for the office of the Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission Board, as reported by Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.

In that office Sargsyan will substitute Viktor Khristenko for four years.

As decided earlier, the number of the board members will decrease, the number of representatives from each country reducing from three to two.
