STEPANAKERT. – President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR, or Artsakh), Bako Sahakyan, on Wednesday visited the construction site of the Cathedral of the Intercession in capital city Stepanakert, and got acquainted with work being carried out.
The President stressed that the faithful in Artsakh have been waiting with great anticipation for the opening and full functioning of this cathedral in the NKR capital city, acknowledging it from the viewpoints of religious upbringing and maintaining cultural and national values.
According to Sahakyan, the completion of this construction within the deadline is important and demanded, reported the Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President.
Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan—who is Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church—, Mayor of Stepanakert Suren Grigoryan, NKR Minister of Urban Development Karen Shahramanyan, and several other officials also accompanied the President.
